"Cottons" marks Jafari's debut drawing series. During her time as a sculpture student, she immersed herself in the extensive practice of drawing figures and still-life subjects. Reacting to this experience, Jafari embarked on creating a series of drawings that portrayed cotton as an organic material, envisioning plump, chubby, and organ-like cotton representations that reimagined a new feminine body. This collection draws inspiration from "Shāhnameh," an epic poetry book authored by Ferdowsi.
This marks Jafari's initial encounter with organic materials, which would go on to play a significant role in shaping her subsequent collections.
